Job description
Fee Management:
Job Summary:
The Accounts Assistant in a school supports the finance team in managing the school's financial transactions and records. The role includes bookkeeping, invoice handling, fee collection, payroll assistance, and helping ensure compliance with educational financial policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with recording and tracking tuition fees and other student payments.
- Follow up on outstanding fees and maintain accurate records of receipts.
Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate day-to-day financial records using accounting software.
- Record all school-related transactions such as purchases, donations, grants, and payments.
Invoice and Payment Processing:
- Process vendor invoices and staff reimbursements.
- Ensure timely payments to suppliers and service providers.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile school bank statements with internal financial records on a regular basis.
Payroll Support:
- Assist in processing payroll data for teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Handle related statutory deductions like EPF, TDS, or local equivalents.
Financial Reporting:
- Help prepare monthly/quarterly financial summaries for management and school boards.
- Assist in audits and compliance documentation.
Petty Cash Management:
- Maintain petty cash records and handle reimbursements for minor expenses.
Support Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain organized records of all financial transactions.
- Handle finance-related queries from parents or staff as needed.
Key Skills Required:
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or school ERP systems)
- Good communication skills (to interact with parents and staff)
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Familiarity with educational finance practices is a plus
Educational Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Additional certifications like AAT or experience with school accounting systems is an advantage

- 3-4 years of experience in an accounting or administrative support role, preferably in a school or educational institution
